We’re inviting all of our members (and their Trade guests) to come discover more about Australian and New Zealand wine in a Masterclass tasting with Emma Symington MW and Rebecca Gibb MW in Manchester

The Aussies and Kiwis have lots in common: fine wine, great food, stunning scenery, the cool Southern Ocean and also our cool Antipodean attitude.

Uncover regional and stylistic differences, find out about winemaking techniques and innovative spirit, and look into the future of Australian and New Zealand wine.

The masterclass line-up – five wines from Australia and five wines from New Zealand – includes organic and biodynamic wines, minimal intervention and natural wines, and alternative varieties and new wave styles.

We also invite you to explore contemporary styles in the free-pour tasting, which features 60 wines. The flights are sparkling wine, Riesling, aromatic whites, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, rosé, light reds, Pinot Noir, Syrah/Shiraz, and Cabernet and blends. From Pét-Nat to Uva di Troia, we’ll challenge your perceptions of Australian and New Zealand wine.

All of the wines are available in the UK. If you’re looking to expand your portfolio of Australian and New Zealand wines, this is a great opportunity to taste and explore a diverse range under one roof.

Masterclass (10.30 - 12.00 and 14.00 - 15.30)

Discover exciting new wines from Australia and New Zealand with Emma Symington MW (Education Development Manager, Wine Australia) and Rebecca Gibb MW (Wine writer and consultant). Try organic and biodynamic wines, minimal intervention and natural wines, and alternative varieties and new wave styles. We’ll explore the countries’ climatic diversity, winemaking brilliance and innovative spirit, and challenge your perceptions of Australian and New Zealand wine. The line-up - five wines from Australia and five wines from New Zealand - includes cool climate expressions, Mediterranean varieties and Pét-Nat. We will run the masterclass twice – when you register, please select either the morning or afternoon session. Please don’t sign up to both sessions as it is the same masterclass. Free-pour tasting (10.00 - 17.00)

The free-pour tasting, running throughout the day from 10am until 5pm, features 60 wines from across Australia and New Zealand. The flights are Sparkling wine, Riesling, Aromatic whites, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rosé, Light reds, Pinot Noir, Syrah/Shiraz, and Cabernet and blends. This is an opportunity to discover new wave styles such as skin contact wines and minimal intervention wines as well as alternative grape varieties like Albariňo, Fiano, Zibbibo, Barbera, Montepulciano, Tempranillo and Uva di Troia. If you think Australia is all about Shiraz and New Zealand about Sauvignon Blanc, then think again.

Please note that this is a trade tasting and is limited to wine trade and media only and you must show confirmation of your ticket purchases upon arrival.
